Filing takes 1-2 days, but the complete government process (Examination, Vienna Codification, Journal Publication) typically takes 6 to 12 months, provided there are no legal objections or oppositions filed by third parties.
It is not mandatory, but highly recommended. If you have an MSME / Udyam certificate, the Government of India provides a 50% discount on the official trademark filing fees for companies and firms (reducing it from ₹9,000 to ₹4,500 per class).
